finding heart through song
a filipino-american singer and songwriter, perlizbeth was born in california, raised in north carolina, and found a path to herself in atlanta, ga.
she started off drawing in sharpie on the walls of a mobile home in youngsville, nc. from there, she started expressing more freely in high school, learning a dance cover to practice in stairwells after school and pushing aside tables in the art room during lunch.
she became the president of the national art honor society at southeast raleigh high school and used her paychecks from her part time job at marbles kids museum at guitar center. taylor’s teardrops on my guitar inspired the adoption of the most basic guitar and reading stargirl in ap english drove her to purchase the first of many ukuleles. cover after cover, the ukulele traveled with her to college at appalachian state university with a couple videos making it to youtube.
while completing her degree in art education, she joined the hip hop dance crew. after graduation, she moved to atlanta, ga to fulfill a passion to become a professional dancer.
now at the end of that chapter, perlizbeth is baring her heart and soul through music.
